Making Disciples

“Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people.” – Psalm 96:3

Opportunities to serve include:

WMU’s unwavering focus is making disciples of Jesus who live on mission.

We carry out this mission by

  • providing missions discipleship resources
  • offering opportunities to engage with compassion ministries, and
  • equipping people through leadership development experiences.

Mission Friends is the WMU missions discipleship group for preschoolers from birth through kindergarten. In Mission Friends, preschoolers develop a missions heart as they move from a focus on themselves to a focus on others. Preschoolers grow toward God as they become aware that God wants everyone to know of His love.

Children in Action (CA) is a coed group designed for boys and girls to come to faith in Christ as Savior while making missions an important part of their daily lives. They learn what it means to live a missional lifestyle while they participate in Bible studies, missions projects and engaging activities. They also have a lot of fun as they “travel” to various places around the world when they learn about and pray for the work of missionaries.

Missions discipleship for teenage girls guides them to look beyond themselves and become actively involved in missions and ministry. What happens in missions discipleship doesn’t just stay within the walls of the church; girls are challenged to live their lives openly for Christ in a very authentic and influential way. They grow to see that God can use them every day in countless ways to change their world.

As young men transition into adulthood, it is of the utmost importance that their faith grows with them. Missions discipleship prepares teenage boys to face the world with confidence in Jesus Christ and a heart on fire for the gospel. Experiences in missions discipleship build boys’ awareness that while God wants every person to know of His love and to have a relationship with Him through Christ, there are still people in the world who know nothing of God’s love. With this knowledge, boys progress from a focus on self to a focus on others. A foundation of missions is set for a lifetime.
